I want to convert my group chat to a topic
Group chats are limited to 10 members. To communicate with more people, you previously had to create a new topic, but thanks to your feedback, we've added the ability to convert group chats to topics directly! 🎉
You can now convert an existing group chat to a topic, keeping all your chat history intact while collaborating with even more members.
⚠️ This feature is available on Enterprise plans and above.
Click More options [...] in the top right of the chat > [Edit info]
Click [Convert to Topic] in the Edit info screen.*The topic will be set to private upon conversion.
Enter the topic name and description, then click [Confirm]
Please note that once a group chat is converted to a topic, it cannot be reverted back to a chat.
The converted chat will be available in your topic list.(The member who converts the group chat will automatically be assigned as the topic admin.)
Tap the menu icon [≡] in the top right of the chat > select the chat name.
Tap Convert to Topic at the bottom of the Edit info screen.
Please note that once a group chat is converted to a topic, it cannot be reverted back to a chat.
If the group chat includes associate members, conversion may not be available due to the associate member topic participation limit (max. 5 topics).
